A personal protection order, or PPO, is an order issued by the circuit court. It can protect you from being hit, threatened, harassed, or stalked by another person. The PPO can also stop someone from coming into your home or bothering you at work. It can also be issued to prevent the removal of a minor child from the home, prohibit the possession of a firearm, or any other act that interferes with the petitioner' personal liberty or that causes a reasonable apprehension of violence.
